Negril is the best spot on the island to experience the most breath-taking sunsets. Sunsets are romantic, intimate, sexy, calming, and personal: it explodes the senses with immense pleasures ever so softly. This is definitely a moment in time when I grab my camera to capture the beauty and a moment in time when I stop, sit down, and inhale deeply of the sweet-smelling roses.
What is your “A moment in time when I…” while watching a sunset. Come on don’t be shy, let’s share.
In addition to the golden healing sunsets, Negril mornings are filled with explosive sunshine, enough to power a groggy Canadian over to Effy’s for some Jamaican brekkie…
Whether exploring the cliffs nearby or hopping on the back of a motorcycle to head inland to Grange Hill, the adventurous will always find very cool stuff to do in or near Negril. Take two weeks if you go, as the first week is for chillaxing and gearing down to the correct tempo. The second week is for enchantment and fortification, storing up sunshine and Irie vibes to get you through the months ahead back home.
Aaaaahhhhhh the memories…
Hi Friend, welcome back! Nice to hear from yu and yu absolutely right bout Negril. It is so relaxing and full of vibes. Aaaaaaaahhhhh the memories lol
While living in North Carolina not knowing very many people the sunsets at the end of each day gave me hope. No matter the turmoil going on in daily life; to just sit at the end of the day with a cup of coffee and watch the sun go down brings one moment of perfect peace and beauty. And each sunset, like people, are unique all their own.

Beautiful! Your photos make me wish the sunset over the water was a short drive from the sunrise over the water! ;). A.k.a I miss the islands!
I have been blessed with a few Jamaican sunsets but the ones that have captured my heart the most are the ones I’ve experienced at the Outer Banks of NC. To have the ocean behind me, while watching the sun kiss the sound good night … and sharing this intimate display with my husband and sons — it doesn’t get any better! Thank you for your beautiful pictures of Negril! I hope to be able to share Jamaica with my family some day!!!
My parents live on a 43 acre property in country South Australia, and I like to sit at the top of their block when things get too much because they have an amazing view across a valley. These are the moments when I sit and take a minute, take a deep breath and breathe in the fresh air and fresh scents of eyucalyptus, and take in the sights and sounds of the birds. This is when I let the breeze blow over me and feel it blowing away my problems.
Moments like this make you feel you insignificance in the world, and helps me to realise my problems are really not that major. Puts a bit of perspective on things.
Great post Sheryl.
