Villa Bella

After making a couple “wrong turns” and driving oooovvverrr a very narrow-way-up- the side of a mountain road…instead of around it…we finally found the Hotel Villa Bella. This hotel is located just outside the town of Christiana in the parish of Manchester. It is a quaint olde style hotel…using some antique artifacts for decoration. The room ran us $5500JA and was very small, but I found that with proper organization, my husband and I had no problem moving around. The food was cooked to order at whatever time we decided to eat and was very delicious. The price for breakfast and dinner was reasonable. Internet was $5US per hour and had no access from our room. Although located high up on the mountain…with temperatures at 55 to 60 degree at night and with breath-taking views…Villa Bella is located across from a High School…which can get quite noisy during sporting events. The Town of Christiana is very crowded, but it is only 15 minutes…I’m told…from Villa Bella to Mandeville which is much nicer. The Staff was very friendly and helpful…the best so far here in Manchester. My opinion is that Hotel Villa Bella is a bit on the pricy side for a hotel that needs renovated and is too far outside town. Nonetheless it was a beautiful hotel with a great view.

Apple

This juicy, soft, sweet, white and red, sexy fruit is a Otaheite Apple, also known as Malay Apple. The apple is oblong and pear-shaped, comes sometimes seedless and has a white interior and deep red skin. Some folks said it may be used as a remedy for diabetes and constipation. Well anything so sexy looking that fills my mouth with fresh, flowery taste, with a natural remedy…gets an A plus in my book…hahahha.

Sweetsop

“The compound fruit is nearly round or conical and 6-10 cm long. The thick rind is composed of knobby segments with a pale-green or bluish green colour. The fruit flesh of the ripe fruit is conical segmented, creamy-white and delightfully fragrant, juicy and sweet. Most of the segments enclose a black seed, and there c…an be as many as 40 seeds per fruit.”
